PremiumPhotographyLocatedintheCaochangdiArtAreainChaoyangDistrictofBeijing，ThreeShadowsPhotographyArtCentrewasestablishedinJuneof2007，becomingChina’sfirstprivatecontemporaryartcentertofocusonphotography.ThecenterisdedicatedtobuildingaplatformtoexhibitandpromoteChina’sphotographyartaswellasdiscoverandsupportphotographytalent.In2009，ThreeShadowsfirstlaunchedthe“ThreeShadowsPhotographyContests”，including“ThreeShadowsPhotographyAward”and“ShiseidoPhotographerAward.”ThecontestsinvitedjuriesfromdiversenationalitiestoselectartistswithindependentspiritandpotentialagainstabackdropofnewtrendsanddevelopmentsofphotographyinChinaaswellasthedynamicsofcontemporaryglobalphotography.Winningworksareprinted，exhib-itedandpublished，introducingthelatestachievementsinChinesephotographytothepublic.GrantingprizestonewartistsenhancesthesounddevelopmentofChina’scontemporaryphotography.The6thThreeShadowsPhotographyContestsattracted
entriesfromabout600photographers，with28ultimatelystandingout.Worksfromthoseartistshavebeendisplayedinanexhibitiontitled“Form-less：Award-winningWorksof2014ThreeShadowsPhotographyAwards”.Accordingtothecurator，“formless”isaboutselfperception，self-innovation，self-deformation，andself-practice.“Theworksinthisyear’scompetitioncamefromdifferentregionsandusedvariedartisticlanguages，”remarksRongRong，photographerandfounderofThreeShadows.“Buttheyallhaveonethingincommon：theyseizethemoment.Andthisresonateswithourgoalsinstartingtheawards.”Inthisyear’scompetition，JuLanchingfromTaiwanwashonoredforherAJourneyBackwardseriestakeninherhometownonDongshanIsland.“Themorepersonalsomethingis，themorevalueithas，”saidrenownedAmericandocumentaryphotographerDianeArbus（1923?C1971）.Ju’sworkishighlypersonal，annotatingherownlifewithfreshphotospresentedlikeadiary.Inherseries，Jureconstructedherhometownintermsof“home”，“food，landandgods”，and“sea”.Successfullydepictingherhome，theworksarearrangedinadismantledscrapbookandenlargedsinglephotos，complementedbytangibleobjectsandsoundscollectedfromthe
